Get instant detection of breaches with advanced voltage sensors.
Test all surfaces efficiently without using water—even verticals and slopes.
Receive Breach-Free Certification after repairs and retesting.
Every day that passes with undetected membrane breaches puts your project at risk.
Traditional inspection methods can miss critical defects on vertical surfaces and complex roofing details, exposing you to potential leaks and customer complaints.
You need a leak detection system that thoroughly tests every surface while keeping your project on schedule.
IR Analyzers provides comprehensive High Voltage Leak Detection services that deliver instant results across all surface types.
Our team of Certified ELD technicians brings many years of specialized experience in High Voltage Leak Testing to every project. We've developed refined testing protocols that meet ASTM Standard D7877 while maximizing efficiency, ensuring you get thorough results without unnecessary delays.
About High Voltage Electronic Leak Detection (ELD)
High Voltage ELD is performed on dry horizontal and vertical surfaces using a very small current at a relatively high voltage for safe and reliable testing. It’s often faster, simpler, and less expensive than Electric Field Vector Mapping (EFVM), which requires increased setup and detection time and constant membrane wetting.
Advanced ELD Sensor Technology
Our roof leak detection system utilizes:
Highly sensitive conductive brushes for precise detection
Specialized voltage settings for different membrane types
Instant audible feedback for immediate identification
A portable current generator connects to two leads: one grounded to the structural deck (or grounding plate) and the other attached to conductive metal brushes. Testing can be done on dry surfaces, both horizontal and vertical.
EFVM is one of the most advanced and effective methods for flat roof leak detection. It works by applying an electrical current across the roof membrane to identify any breaches. When combined with our roof leak detection equipment, EFVM can quickly and precisely locate any points of water entry for immediate repairs and retesting to confirm a watertight installation.
Detection Method
A technician sweeps the electrified brush across the membrane surface. Under normal conditions, no current should flow since the membrane acts as an insulator.

Breach Identification
When the brush passes over a breach or gap, electricity flows through it to the grounded deck, completing the circuit. An alarm immediately sounds to alert the technician of the leak's location.
